Keiko “Mocha” Ishibashi
Violinist / String Arranger

Mocha was born in Japan. she began violin at the age of 4.
She studied classical music in Tokyo,Japan. In 1998, she moved to Boston to study at Berklee College of Music where she met her husband K Ishibashi.

In 1999, she joined the Metropolitan Orchestra which was conducted by Kevin Kaska (Boston Pop Orchestra) and performed a concert with Maynard Ferguson and Artro Sandoval.
In 2001, Mocha was a fertured violinist violin on an independent documentary film "My Father ,the Guinus" (sundance).

In 2003, Mocha moved to New York City. Mocha started collaborating with many DJ's and artist.Including, Mattisuyahu ( J Dub Records), Raination, the organic hip-hop band and an analog synth rock band Jupiter one. She also start
perfoming at high end clubs like Pangea with many DJs such as DJ Dove,
DJ Bruce and DJ Jonathan Peterson.

Mocha is working as an producer/arranger / recording artist for CMH records and also runs an ipod radio station Mocha Nova cafe (www.Hellthy.com) which was reviewed on Living Budget Magazine 2005 spring/summer issue.

She performed and shared the stage with many artist such as The Roots,
Black eyed Peas, Common, Julian Marly,Wyleff, Talib Kweli, Mattisuyahu,
Herbie Hancock, Diana Krall, Dian Reeves, Quincy Jhones,
Christian McBride and Chip Taylor (award winning songwriter,Wild thing).

Ms. Mocha is currently resides in New York with her husband K Ishibashi
and her cat Blue.
